To pursue sustainability, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ has set a goal of transitioning its entire electricity consumption to renewable energy by fiscal year 2030. In collaboration with various parties, the university is actively promoting a range of initiatives, such as installing energy-saving equipment in its buildings, with a focus on the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC).

As part of this effort, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ launched a new initiative in January of this year called the "ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Gijuku Shachu Cooperation ¡Á Carbon Neutral Plan." This plan is a trial based on the partnership agreement signed with TEPCO Holdings, Inc. in 2022. Specifically, it is an initiative that contributes to ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡'s carbon neutrality by allowing households in the Kanto area * with solar power generation systems installed by TEPCO Energy Partner, Inc. to donate the "environmental value" of the electricity they generate and consume themselves. Donating "environmental value" is not a donation of the value of the electricity itself, but rather a contribution of a new form of value beyond physical goods or financial resources.

By providing this "environmental value" to ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, it can be used for the university's carbon offsetting. As a result, not only does this bring ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ closer to its stated carbon neutrality goals, but your cooperation also contributes to the sustainability of society as a whole. We believe this is an ideal expression of the spirit of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Gijuku Shachu cooperation that the university has long cherished.

In addition to addressing climate change through its education and research outcomes, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ aims to create a sustainable future with the cooperation of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Gijuku Shachu community. To achieve our carbon neutrality goals, we ask all those associated with ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ (including ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ alumni, faculty, staff, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ students, and their guardians), and anyone interested in this initiative, to please lend your support in the spirit of "ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Gijuku Shachu cooperation."
