New technologies that are significantly changing society are now converging toward a single point. That is "Beyond 5G."

Over the past decade, we have experienced an immense amount through the internet. We buy things recommended by Amazon, watch Netflix, and easily reach our driving destinations with Google. It is very convenient, but if you think about it, couldn't it be said that our reality is being driven to act exactly as computers decide? It might seem a bit scary, but it can also be seen as being controlled ideally, efficiently, and above all, safely. Everything¡ªobjects, events, and thoughts¡ªis connected to the network, and highly advanced AI considers combinations far beyond human capability to find the "optimum" and control things in real-time based on that. That is what "5G" aims for.

"Digital Twin" creates something exactly the same as reality (space and time) in cyberspace and controls it there. Its greatest advantage is the ability to simulate all possibilities with infinite computing power and select the best conclusion. Like Google navigation, it supports individuals to efficiently realize a very rich and enjoyable life.

This book began with a hosted by TOYO Corporation, featuring Mr. Takehiro Nakamura, known as "Mr. 5G" of NTT DOCOMO, Inc., and economist Ms. Masumi Choi, a familiar face on TV for her easy-to-understand commentary. While the organizers expected a discussion on wireless technology trends, it actually turned into a conversation about the DX (Digital Transformation) that 5G aims for, the society and life created by DX, the businesses that will be created, and the future vision born from the so-called singularity. Yes, "5G" means becoming a sophisticated network-led support society through the fusion of networks, AI, and robotics represented by autonomous driving. Now is the time to look ahead, seize business opportunities, and reconsider technological investment and industries in preparation for the future.
