I currently produce additive-free food for children, but I originally worked at a tax accountant's office and then spent nearly seven years at an American brokerage firm. Later, I gave birth in my mid-30s. After having a child, as my child's meals progressed from baby food to toddler food and became more like adult meals, I was shocked by how chemical-laden the children's food sold in supermarkets was. Driven by a sense of urgency, I founded "Kodomo no Shokutaku" as if I were being pushed forward.

Since I had been in the world of securities until then, I had no connections or experience in the food industry, and searching for a factory felt like a period of intense training. Every day, I called every factory capable of making frozen side dishes to consult with them. It was a difficult time as I carried my young child on my back, but I managed to create frozen food through crowdfunding. After that, as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I began making seasonings and snacks. Although I started Kodomo no Shokutaku alone, as products were gradually completed and my message about the importance of food for children during their taste-forming years and my desire to "create things I want to feed my own child" spread, many ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ alumni stepped forward to help me along the way.

I cannot possibly list everyone here, but among them, I am grateful to Mr. Takeshi Yamaguchi, who presides over "Aji no Techo," for giving me a precious opportunity for a serialized column because he wanted as many people as possible to know about us. Also, when I held a pop-up at the Isetan Shinjuku main store, Mr. Yuki Higo, a senior from my university club, happened to be in charge of the food department at the time. Furthermore, I had the immense honor of collaborating on a bento box between the long-established Japanese restaurant "Kitcho," where my Chutobu Junior High School classmate Ms. Taeko Yuki serves as the young proprietress, and "Kodomo no Shokutaku." Above all, the person supporting the overall administrative headquarters of Kodomo no Shokutaku today is Ms. Takako Maeda, a senior from the seminar of Professor Kazuhiro Taniguchi, who taught me so much in Management in the Faculty of Business and Commerce.

By running forward with all my might while tackling new challenges every day, the number of stores carrying our products¡ªsuch as Isetan, Kinokuniya, Bio c' Bon, and Life BIO-RAL¡ªhas gradually increased in the five years since our founding. I feel that the "safety of children's food" is slowly being protected, and I am grateful every day for the connections made through ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡.
