Symposium Announcement

" Starting the Conversation on Regional Revitalization xSDG " (February 13)

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are international goals adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 to achieve a transformation toward a sustainable global society, "leaving no one behind." These are goals for 2030 that can only be achieved when developing and developed countries work together and all stakeholders make a concerted effort. The essence lies in achieving what was previously impossible by enabling various actors, such as companies and local governments, to collaborate by integrating the SDGs into their activities. The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Research Institute at SFC xSDG Lab, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ (xSDG Lab) was established to solve social issues through research based on such collaborations.

This symposium will feature discussions on the theme of "Local Governments xSDG." What are the keys to promoting the SDGs in local governments? How should we perceive the SDGs to create business opportunities? How can we foster collaboration around the SDGs? Under the moderation of Hiroko Kuniya, Guest Professor (Part-time) at the university's Graduate School of Media and Governance, we will explore the challenges and possibilities for collaboration. We sincerely look forward to your participation.
