On Thursday, August 3, an opening ceremony was held for AOI-PARC, a strategic research center for advanced technologies centered on agriculture, in Shizuoka Prefecture, with which ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ has signed a basic agreement on collaboration and cooperation in advanced agricultural projects. Attendees from ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ included President Haseyama, Vice-President Kokuryo, and Associate Professor Kaminari of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, who is the representative of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Research Institute at SFC AOI Lab.
At the opening ceremony, following speeches by Shizuoka Governor Kawakatsu and guest congratulatory remarks, President Haseyama expressed his determination for ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ to play a leading role at the forefront of research and education. He stated that through research at AOI-PARC, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ will engage in activities that contribute to the advancement of science and technology, industrial promotion, the development of local communities, and human resource development.
At the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Research Institute at SFC AOI Lab, two of the five researchers will be stationed at AOI-PARC. They will aim to conduct research and development toward industry-academia-government collaboration, in addition to advancing crop cultivation methods, introducing AI agriculture, and developing a platform for integrating production, food, and health information.
