A research group led by Professor Yasue Mitsukura of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Faculty of Science and Technology and Project Lecturer Brian Sumali of the university's Global Research Institute has developed an algorithm that accurately detects heartbeats just by sitting, using sensors placed under the legs of a chair. They have successfully detected arrhythmia automatically and found that this technology has the potential to detect various types of heart disease in the future. This research is expected to be useful in predicting acute myocardial infarction and heart failure that occur at home.
The results of this research were published in the academic journal " PLOS ONE " on July 30, 2022.
