A research group from the Department of Neurology, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ School of Medicine, led by Senior Lecturer Tsubasa Takizawa, Assistant Professor Koji Sekiguchi, and Professor Jin Nakahara, has investigated the characteristics and frequency of headaches after COVID-19 vaccination among the nursing staff at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Hospital. The study revealed that individuals who regularly suffer from headaches are more likely to develop headaches as a side effect after COVID-19 vaccination (37.9% in healthy individuals versus 69.2% in those with migraines and 71.4% in those with non-migraine headaches).
The results of this study were published in the online edition of "Cephalalgia" on August 19, 2021 (Japan Standard Time).
