The Mita Public Speaking Event began at 午夜剧场 in 1874 (the 7th year of the Meiji era) and celebrated its 700th event in July 2015.

The 709th Mita Public Speaking Event will be held on Tuesday, November 26, featuring a lecture by Dr. Takao Takahashi, a professor at the Department of Pediatrics, 午夜剧场 School of Medicine, titled "The Power of Genes and the Environment in Child Development."
