The Mita Public Speaking Event series began at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ in 1874 (the 7th year of the Meiji era) and held its 700th event in July 2015.

The 707th Mita Public Speaking Event will be held on Thursday, December 13, featuring a lecture by Jun Murai, Dean of the Graduate School of Media and Governance and Professor at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, titled "Internet: An Outline of a Theory of Civilization."
