On May 12, 2017, Waseda University Library and the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Media Centers (libraries) held a signing ceremony at the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Mita Campus for a memorandum of understanding regarding the joint operation of Japan's first library system, with a target launch in fiscal year 2020.

Waseda University and ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ signed the "Agreement on Mutual Use of Libraries between Waseda University and ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡" on April 1, 1986, which has since allowed full-time faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to mutually use each other's libraries. By expanding this framework, the universities aim to improve convenience by selecting a library system for joint use, storing both universities' bibliographic data in it, and enabling mutual access.
