This year marks the 125th anniversary of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School, one of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡'s affiliated schools responsible for secondary education. To commemorate this, the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School 125th Anniversary Ceremony was held at the Hiyoshi Commemorative Hall on Thursday, June 8.
Approximately 2,500 people attended, including current ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School students, their parents, and alumni. Also in attendance were ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ officials, such as Hiromichi Iwasa, Chair of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Board of Councillors; Akiko Suganuma, President of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Rengo Mita-Kai; the President; Vice-Presidents; and the heads of various affiliated schools, as well as many members of the local community who have long supported the school.
The ceremony began with the Rendition of Alma Mater "The Juku-ka," followed by a ceremonial address from Kazunori Morikami, Head of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School, and a congratulatory address from President Kohei Itoh. A video introducing ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School, created by current students, was then screened. This was followed by more congratulatory remarks from guests. In the latter half of the ceremony, the 125th anniversary song "Sono Saki e" (Beyond), composed and arranged by Akira Senju (ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School class of 1976) with lyrics by Takashi Sawachi (ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School class of 1977), was performed by a choir, accompanied by a joint orchestra of current students and alumni. The ceremony, which lasted about an hour and a half, concluded with speeches from successful alumni and a representative of the current student body, followed by a singing of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School song.
A special exhibition on the history of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Futsubu School was also held in the foyer on the second floor of the Hiyoshi Commemorative Hall, attracting many visitors. Blessed with fine weather, the memorable day concluded successfully.
