Research Overview
My research examines the competitive advantage of Japanese SMEs, particularly in the machinery industry, through fieldwork-based analysis and historical inquiry. In recent years, I have focused on how competitiveness has been formed in Japan¡¯s industrial base, especially in mold manufacturing, and on whether such advantages can be sustained in the face of competition from emerging economies such as China.
