Research Overview

I research long-nineteenth-century British literature and culture with a particular emphasis on British Aestheticism in its global context. My recent project has investigated the historical connection between curiosity and cosmopolitan aestheticism in various nineteenth- and early twentieth-century writers, including Walter Pater, J. A. Symonds, Oscar Wilde and Lafcadio Hearn, with the aim to contextualise them within a broader map of curiosity and the history of ideas.

Specialty

British Literature/Culture, Intellectual History, Aestheticism
